Points to keep in mind when deciding to buy an e-commerce website

  1. Check if it is a white label cookie-cutter website from the manufacturer or an existing e-commerce site with established traffic and sales.
  2. If the site is an established site with a good amount of traffic and sales, look into the details of how it has been operating up to now. Look at what its business strategies have been. For example, if the site is solely dependent on ad spending to generate its revenue, then its value is greatly diminished. It’s kind of like a pump and dump. Throw up a website, put some ads to it, generate some sales and flip for 8-10x based on 1 month sales figures.
  3. People usually don’t sell things that make them more money than they are worth. It’s usually the other way. Plain and simple. So it’s either good money and worth it or good money and not worth it, if it is the second one, you’d want to know exactly why it’s not worth it.
